R. Noah Padgett, PhD

Psychometrician and Applied Statistician

In a not so long of story, I am have a degree in educational psychology in which I know little about education and even less about psychology. More seriously, my work centers on the development of quantitative methods for social science research. The methods I develop focus on survey development and analysis so that researchers can have more confidence that the inferences they make use of defensible measurement practices.

My research is divided into an arm for the development and evaluation of software and an arm for collaborating on projects. In collaborations, one of my major contributions is in the development and/or validation of surveys for a particular study. I've found most situations bring new wrinkles to consider in the development process. I see part of my job is to help navigate through such issues so that measurement and/or statistical issues are accounted for when making conclusions about people.
